Gillard to play "War Games" again

bvWarGames.jpgStuart Gillard has been signed on to direct a sequel to War Games, a movie released 23 years ago that starred a young Matthew Broderick. The sequel will be called War Games 2 : The Dead Game and will begin production next month. More info from Dark Horizons... "The storyline follows a teenage hacker whose world gets turned upside after playing an online terrorist-attack simulator game against a government super-computer designed to profile potential terrorists. All hell breaks loose when Homeland Security is convinced that he's a terrorist intent on disrupting the fabric of society". Sounds more like a remake to the original than a sequel and I doubt there will be any contiunity to the first movie, which actually I've never seen. Has the potential to be a fun kids flick if done right but I doubt I will be rushing to the cinema's to see it when it's released. source - production weekly, dark horizons
