"God save the queen" - Emily Blunt's THE YOUNG VICTORIA trailer!

Following in the footsteps of Keira Knightley, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson last year, Brit actress Emily Blunt has made a corset movie. It's titled THE YOUNG VICTORIA and follows the emotional young life of the famous Queen of England who took the crown at the tender age of 18. The movie follows her romance to Prince Albert (Rupert Friend), her growth into the role of being Britain's ruler and her relationship to her mentor and future P.M. William Lamb (Paul Bettany). The movie opens March 6th in the U.K. but has yet to win a U.S. deal...

I like the very down to Earth performance from Blunt, I like that we see her giggle. Too often (THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL) we see very stiff performances in this corset genre but Blunt looks to have given a lot of warmth to a character who is usually seen dressed all in black and with the weight of the world on her shoulders. I did enjoy THE DUCHESS last year, so I am capable of liking these movies.

Jean-Marc Valle, who previously directed the Indie movie C.R.A.Z.Y. has helmed this one from a script by the writer of VANITY FAIR and GOSFORD PARK.
