9. No Love For Louis C.K.
Louis C.K.'s brilliant comedy Louie is one of the best TV shows currently airing at the moment; it's irreverent, honest and deeply human, which is more than can be said for the vast majority of TV these days. Perhaps that refreshing honesty - somewhat reminiscent of Larry David's superb Curb Your Enthusiasm, though different enough in of itself - proved too much for the HPFA, who instead gave the "Best Actor in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy" award to Don Cheadle for House of Lies. Slickly charismatic though Cheadle's turn was - and that might be reason enough for his win - Louis gave a truly spellbinding, subtle and more nuanced performance, though true to form, the Golden Globes instead opts for celebrity above all else.
