Gravity: 10 Reasons It's One Of 2013's Crowning Achievements

10. Non-Gimmicky 3D

Gravity 90% of the time when you see a movie in 3D, you never even notice anything visually stunning. The only noteworthy aspect of 3D is that it jacks up the cost of your ticket price, leaving you perplexed at what the fuss is about. Avatar may have blown us all away with its gorgeous special effects enhanced by 3D, but since then, 3D has become a deceptively marketable gimmick. Gravity most definitely bucks that devious trend, and is full of little touches that greatly enhance the mood and atmosphere. There were times I saw something moving on screen that I originally thought were real people in the theater moving, only to realize it was actually debris or objects in space coming into my view. 3D is not a gimmick here; it€™s practically a necessity to achieve the full intended experience. I cannot recommend seeing Gravity in 3D on the biggest screen possible enough.
