Great Neptune! Aquaman Will Start Filming In May

The fishy bad-ass is on his way...

Aquaman Bourbon Justice League
Warner Bros.

It looks like Aquaman is still on track for its announced release slot, as My Entertainment World have revealed that James Wan's underwater epic will begin filming on 22nd May, 2017. This follows rumours that it will be filming in Hawaii (along with Marvel's Namor, though that's significantly less firm).

After teases in the Justice League footage, it's safe to say that the film is vastly more enticing than anyone can have ever predicted. It has a great cast, a talented director and the tone appears to be establishing Aquaman as a total bad-ass, rather than the slightly comedic figure cynics might choose to paint him as. He deserves his time to shine.

Interestingly, the site retools the film's synopsis as follows:

"The film is about a superhero from the sea who can telepathically communicate with all sea creatures is caught between a rock and a hard place when the creatures of the sea want to revolt against the surface world."

That makes it sound like the fish are going to lead some sort of revolution.

Anyway, at least this still looks like it's on track for the revised release date of October 2018 that was announced recently. Warner Bros need a film to hang some stability on, after all... Who'd have thought it would be the one about the fish?
