Greatest Movie Scenes #60 - LOST IN TRANSLATION

As requested by Gregg, this week's great movie scene comes from the really cool Lost in Translation movie from Sofia Coppola, which is a film I'm sure attracted many from the Western world over to Tokyo for a vacation.

lost-in-translation.jpgAs requested by Gregg, this week's great movie scene comes from the really cool Lost in Translation movie from Sofia Coppola, which is a film I'm sure attracted many from the Western world over to Tokyo for a vacation. This scene was just made for Bill Murray. I don't know if it was written specifically for him but this is the kind of material that he wasn't getting to work with for some reason after Groundhog Day but it's the stuff that he strives on. I swear he could make me laugh like a girl all day if he were ever to do just a silent movie, his facial acting (if there is such a word) is incredible. And for those who have always wondered, this is apparently one of the long monologues that comes from the commercial director in the movie...
DIRECTOR: Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut! (Then in a very male form of Japanese, like a father speaking to a wayward child) Don't try to fool me. Don't pretend you don't understand. Do you even understand what we are trying to do? Suntory is very exclusive. The sound of the words is important. It's an expensive drink. This is No. 1. Now do it again, and you have to feel that this is exclusive. O.K.? This is not an everyday whiskey you know.
Great stuff...
