Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: Everything We Know So Far

A pitch that brought Chris Pratt to tears - it's your definite guide to Guardians 2!

To everyone's surprise, Guardians Of The Galaxy turned out to be not just another solid entry in the ever-expanding MCU canon, but arguably its best movie to date. Seriously: nobody could have expected a movie set in the far reaches of space and featuring a talking racoon and a tree thing voiced by Vin Diesel to be anything but a total an utter disaster, and yet somehow - somehow - writer/director James Gunn managed to produce the most relentlessly entertaining and outright fun MCU movie of the bunch. Naturally, then, the upcoming sequel, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, is something to be excited about - especially since Gunn himself has been hired to write and director all over again, and the movie is set to feature the same iconic cast of misfits as they jet about the galaxy getting into scrapes and, you know, preventing the end of the universe if it comes to that. The movie isn't out until 2017, sadly, but here's a list of everything we know so far...

11. The Movie Is Officially Titled "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2"

Instead of opting for a basic sequel title like "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2" or "Guardians Of The Galaxy: ", Marvel overlord Kevin Feige accidentally revealed a couple of months back that the follow-up would run with a far jokier title. That's to say, the sequel will be called "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2" - a clear reference to Star Lord's treasured cassette tape and his love of somewhat cheesy (but awesome) '70s music. Naming the movie in this manner seems like the right route to go down, as it helps to separate the titles of the Guardians movies from the other MCU flicks in a way that feels appropriate. Plus, all those subtitles can get a little annoying after a while, can't they? Regarding Kevin Feige's accidental reveal of the title, then, James Gunn said: "I€™m really happy about it because God knows I€™ve let more than one thing slip accidentally."
