Although Marvel Studios didn't quite set the world alight at their Hall H panel this year, we were still treated to a ton of concept art and footage from their upcoming film slate. And while the Doctor Strange trailer was the only footage released to the public, they also screened footage from Thor, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Unfortunately, you probably won't get to see a high quality version of that footage, but luckily we can bring you a breakdown of the Guardians sizzle reel that wowed the floor.

With a little under a year to go until the sequel to James Gunn's breakout hit of 2014 lands, the director had promised that new footage would be showcased at the convention and it didn't disappoint. We are probably still a few months out from getting a full trailer released to the public, but this hilarious footage confirmed some of the rumours heard during production, including the question of Peter Quill's patronage.

The revelation that he was sired by a giant living planet should have come as less expected.

7. Yondu Is Now A Guardian

Michael Rooker was one of the standouts in the original Guardians of The Galaxy. As a long time friend of Gunn, it was no surprise to see the character back and at the forefront more than ever.

The concept art released earlier in the week saw the blue skinned space pirate alongside the Guardians, which gave us a hint that he'd be burying the hatchet with Quill after he double crossed him at the end of Volume 1. Well from the footage at Comic Con it would seem like Yondu's own crew of Ravagers have turned against him, threatening to hand him over to the Kree. Gunn had the following to say on the matter:

"We learn that they’ve had a somewhat contentious, even mutinous, relationship with Yondu since Vol. 1, due to the fact that Yondu let Peter Quill go without reprisal after not giving them the orb."

The opening scene of the sizzle reel sees Yondu locked in a run down detainment area with Rocket Racoon, with the promise of them being delivered to the Kree in the morning. Although no further context is given as to why they're now together, it would seem they are now pals.

After being broken out by baby Groot, Yondu goes on to kill every member of the crew that betrayed him, using his iconic red arrow. One hell of a way to set the tone for Guardians Volume 2.
