Harold Ramis RIP: His 10 Most Memorable Films

1. Ghostbusters (1984)

What better way to complete this list than to come full circle? We started with Ghostbusters II and we'll finish with the original. A classic in every sense. Beloved by parents and children. Iconic scene after iconic scene. Ghostbusters had it all. It is Ramis' first outing as Dr. Egon Spengler who, alongside Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, sets up a business dealing with paranormal activity. Fans gobbled it up when it was first released and it quickly became one of the most financially successful films of the eighties. Add to that a truly catchy musical number as famous as the film itself, and you have a staple of comedy culture unrivalled by many others. It was funny and scary at the same time, but, as has been the case with every film on this list, it has heart. With Ghostbusters, Harold Ramis captured our imaginations and succeeded admirably at the one thing he always wanted to do - entertain us. What are your favourite Harold Ramis films? I love all things imaginative, from the page to the screen, and nurture a soft spot for Donald Sutherland and Daniel Bryan.
