How Do You Fancy Deadpool Hosting SNL?

Sign the petition ASAP.

Change.org, usually a bastion for slacktivist-led, morally righteous social upheaval, is now playing host to one man's petition to get Deadpool - not Ryan Reynolds, but Ryan Reynolds in character as Deadpool - to host Saturday Night Live. Whilst probably not what the creators of Change.org originally had in mind for their people-power website, you have to admit - it's a spellbinding idea. As petition writer Andrew Stege says, it would be amazing to see the irreverent character appearing in sketches, breaking the fourth wall, and "doing some interpretive dancing" whilst the musical guest is playing. Whilst I'm not sold on that last part, the rest is a solid idea. The petition currently has well over 50,000 signatures, with a desired goal of 75k. It's no surprise that so many have signed it, considering the character's new found surge of popularity, thanks to the quality film currently in cinemas. Let's face it, a petition like this has 'social media bait' written all over it, and it's spreading like wildfire. Whether SNL-head honcho Lorne Michaels would be happy to acquiesce the request - and whether the legal side of it could be sussed out, between Fox and NBC - is up for debate. It seems like a winning business decision from the outside looking in, at least. What do you think? Would you be up for Deadpool hosting Saturday Night Live, albeit a toned-down version (obviously)? Who am I kidding? Of course you are. Deadpool is currently in cinemas.
