This past week, M. Night Shyamalan's masterful dramatic horror film The Sixth Sense turned 20 years old, and no matter how inconsistent the filmmaker's output has been since, there's no denying the brilliance of this terrifically acted and enormously successful effort.

Despite the understandable concern that the twist might age the film badly, two decades on Shyamalan's defining work remains a taut and exceptionally atmospheric piece, and one that of course only deepens in meaning and intrigue on repeat viewings.

And so, it's time to dig deep into the finer details of the movie and see just how closely you were paying attention the last time you watched it.
