How X-Men's Colossus Will Look In The Deadpool Movie

Will be fully created by CGI.

Production on Deadpool continues in Vancouver, with streets and bridges closed for a rather overblown action sequence. If you saw the test footage that leaked a few months ago, it's a lot like that but in live action, bigger and even nuttier. Amongst the characters in the scene are Deadpool himself, the superbly named Negasonic Teenage Warhead and sometime X-Man, Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus. As I understand it, the character never appears in his non-transformed, un-metallic mode so he's being created with CG. A celebrity voice will be added later, I'm sure; go ahead and place your bets on who they might pick. We know that Daniel Cudmore, who played the character in the X-Men films, has been left out in the cold this time. Photos from the set show the model reference head they're using for Colossus. The pics ran at Just Jared, who didn't understand the implications of what they were publishing. As well as the reference head, you'll see a stand-in actor too, dressed in grey performance capture clothes. There's a ball on his head to help the actors get their eyelines right when dealing with the character. All in, it's very close to the techniques used to create Groot for Guardians of the Galaxy.
Deadpool will be along in February next year, just in time for Valetine's day. I'm sure they're already planning the marketing campaign around this now.
