James Bond Will Return Nov 8th, 2019... But Will Daniel Craig Be Back?

We're still waiting to hear whether Daniel Craig will be back behind the wheel of the Aston Martin, but at least we've got an official release date for the next James Bond film now.

Franchise producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer head honcho Gary Barber have announced that the super spy will embark on his next mission on 8 November 2019.

That's the date Bond 25 will hit US theatres, but fans in the UK and the rest of the world should get to see it earlier, as is tradition.

It's curious that the announcement was not accompanied by any casting confirmation, since multiple reports have stated that Craig is on the verge of signing up for a fifth 007 outing. Perhaps the ink is still drying on his contract, which is rumoured to be worth a whopping $150 million.

As for what we do know about Bond 25, it will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, the long-time 007 screenwriters who have shaped the secret agent's adventures throughout the Craig era.

Everything else is pretty much up in the air, although earlier reports suggest Lucky Number Slevin filmmaker Paul McGuigan is the favourite to take up the director's chair. We were hoping for Christopher Nolan, but let's give the guy a chance if the rumours turn out to be true.

Craig last slipped into the tux and took up his Walther PPK in 2015's Spectre, which raked in an impressive $880.7 million at the global box office.
