Jeff Daniels is a Traitor

Actor signs up for Guy Pearce/Don Cheadle movie which originated from a Steve Martin pitch!

Jeff Daniels, an actor who I constantly confuse with Jeff Bridges... has joined the cast of the Guy Pearce/Don Cheadle thriller Traitor. You might remember we talked about this flick back in July when Jeffrey Nachomanoff came on board to helm the picture which originated from an idea from Steve Martin. This was the movie that during the filming of Bringing Down the House, Steve Martin told the flick's producers he had an idea for a espionage thriller and he arranged a meeting which the producers who never turned up for because they thought Martin was just pulling their leg. I mean its' Steve Martin.... comedy guy not thriller guy and he is known for pulling off such pranks on set. But Martin was serious. When they eventually got round to discussing it, the producers loved the idea and the movie was soon greenlit at Overture Films. The story centers on a CIA operative working undercover with a terrorist group who becomes a terrorist suspect. Cheadle is the undercover agent, while Pearce is an FBI agent investigating terrorist activities. Daniels also supports as a CIA agent, as does great supporting actor Neal McDonough. Archie Panjabi, Aliya Kahn and Said Taghmaoui round out the rest of the cast says Coming Soon. Pearce, Cheadle and the mind of Martin are enough for me to see this movie, so Daniels my friend you haven't swayed me anymore to see this movie. My ticket was already sold.
