Jessica Biel will DIE A LITTLE instead of appearing in JLA

She turned down Wonder Woman so Biel could star and produce the small time noir thriller Die A Little!

So, we never quite found out the reason why Jessica Biel turned down the role of Wonder Woman in the "things are now eerily quiet" Justice League of America movie. Was it because of the script? Was she not offered enough money? Was it because of the feeling she got about how big the role was? How about the lack therefore or indeed the forced contractual agreement for future movies? Or was it because of this project...

Variety say that the 25 year old actress will star and produce the United Artists' crime/thriller Die a Little. Along side Biel's production company Iron Ocean Films will be Richard Gladstein's FilmColony banner.
Based on Megan Abbott's novel, "Die a Little" explores how the lives of a schoolteacher and her LAPD detective brother are turned upside down by a mysterious woman. The novel's set in 1954 in the Los Angeles area, but the pic will be set in the present day. Marcia and Geoffrey Blake are writing the script and originally pitched the book-based project.
Well of course I love the damn book cover to this thing and the genre Biel is playing with here but there's not a lot else that sounds interesting. Biel is set to play the mysterious woman in red I believe, with no other talent or director yet assigned. I can see this one being a tough sell for audiences and despite Biel's popularity with the media, she has yet to see that fully come back with Box Office Returns or an acting performance that could warrant it. Although The Illusionist and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry did well for her, I'm not sure it will carry over for this subject matter.
