John Singleton involved in fatal car crash

John Singleton was involved in a fatal car crash on Thursday night when the Lexus SUV he was driving hit a 57 year old female jaywalker who jumped in front of his car. Singleton, unhurt from the collision, stopped his car immediately and waited for the police. The accident took place in the Los Angeles' Jefferson Park neighborhood, where Police Officer Jason Lee, released this statement to the press...

"Mr. Singleton stopped and identified himself as required by law and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol," Lee said. "He was questioned and released."
Singleton is an acclaimed director whose debut film Boyz n the Hood in 1991 won him a best director and best writing nomination and has since helmed seven movies, the most well known being his recent movies Shaft, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Four Brothers. The director is currently on pre-production for the Halle Berry/Billy Bob Thornton flick Tulia.
