Joseph Gordon-Levitt: 5 Reasons Why He Was Awesome Before 2012

Twenty-twelve has been a good year for Joseph Gordon-Levitt who has stepped out of his indie-film shadow and risen to mainstream success, building on the star power he attained with films like 500 Days of Summer and Inception. Earlier this year he was dubbed by some as the best thing about The Dark Knight Rises, cinema-goers are loving his performance in Looper and he€™s set to star in Steven Spielberg€™s Lincoln, playing the son to Daniel Day Lewis€™s Abraham. JGL has proven he€™s got what it takes to conquer Hollywood both in talent and in sex appeal as a recent SNL Magic Mike spoof proved that beneath his checkered shirts there€™s a six pack busting body to match. 2012 is clearly the year of Jo-Go but people who have been a fan for some time now will know; there€™s a lot more to him than playing Bruce Willis€™s former self. In fact the director of Looper also made Brick, the film noir masterpiece with a high school twist in which Joseph Gordon- Levitt shone as a nerdy detective. That is just one example of the 31 year-old's impressive oeuvre. Below, I have kindly provided five more reasons why everyone should have jumped on the Jo-Go bandwagon a long time ago.
