Justice League: 10 Over-Looked Positives

Come on, it's really not THAT bad.

A movie many comic book fans have been waiting for decades has arrived in cinemas: a Justice League movie. And... it's really not too bad as superhero movies go and it represents a step forward for the troubled DC Extended Universe.

However, if you read the reviews, you'll get a very different story.

Despite Wonder Woman's success earlier this year, the hatred for the DCEU is still tangible and Justice League, as of now, sits at a weak 41% on Rotten Tomatoes. And while it can't be denied that it is rushed, the supporting players are wasted and the CGI villain is awful, Justice League is actually a lot of fun.

Those 2-star and 1-star reviews are just far too harsh. In fact, considering the film's troubled production, it's amazing a coherent film got out of the gate at all.

Right now, it wouldn't even be hard to think of at least twenty movies rated higher on Rotten Tomatoes that are far worse. But likely thanks to the toxic buzz surrounding the DCEU as a whole, Justice League's various positive qualities have been largely ignored...

10. It's Miles Ahead Of Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman And Suicide Squad

This should go without saying, but Justice League is miles ahead of Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad.

Batman vs. Superman was a dour, grim and soulless blockbuster movie that sacrificed the many flashes of potential for loads of bland CGI nonsense. Meanwhile, Suicide Squad looked like something different, but turned out to be a generic, charmless mess which was just another formulaic blockbuster ending with another beam-in-the-sky climax involving a woeful villain.

Man of Steel, meanwhile, was just too dull and humorless and had too much of people getting blasted through walls. It can comfortably be said that Justice League is better than all three of those, yet for some reason it's being seen as more or less the same sort of quality.

This is despite it having far more charm than Batman vs. Superman, not being an incomprehensible mess unlike Suicide Squad and actually being the slightest bit of fun, unlike Man of Steel.

As well as that, there are no seriously embarrassing moments in Justice League. No Superman killing millions of innocent people, no "Martha!" and while Steppenwolf is a terrible waste of Ciaran Hinds' talents, he's still nowhere near as bad as Suicide Squad's Enchantress.
