Justice League's Green Lantern Might Just Have Been Revealed

And it's not a human...

After ace scooper Umberto Gonzalez took to Periscope to confirm that he knew that there was a Green Lantern in Justice League, but that it probably wasn't Hal Jordan (because, oddly, he claimed the name he had forgotten sounded "funny"), there's now been an update on the situation.

The guys at GeekFeed have confirmed that they were contacted some months ago by someone who claimed to have visited the Justice League set, and who had seen concept art for the film that included a member of the Green Lantern Corps. Seemingly corroborating Gonzalez's information, that source said the Lantern wasn't human, and the "funny" name mentioned was that of Abin Sur.

That name will of course already be familiar for Green Lantern movie fans, as Abin Sur appeared in 2011's Green Lantern movie, and was the Corpsman who passed on his power ring to Hal Jordan after crashing on Earth with mortal injuries sustained in a battle with Parlax.

He was played in that film by Temuera Morrison under heavy prosthetics, but it's unclear whether the character will look the same here. You'd think, given that film's issues, that Warner Bros would be keen to avoid too many close likenesses.

Interesting news either way.
