Justice League: 5 Great Actors Who Could Pull Off The Dark Knight

It's pretty much written in stone that a Justice League movie will be released in the next few years as DC rushes to get its answer to The Avengers out as soon as possible. Of course, the most interesting obstacle to watch the filmmakers overcome is how to meld the already existing world established in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy with whatever direction they want to go with The Justice League. With Christian Bale in the role, Batman has taken the superhero genre to new heights in recent years, though with Bale passing on The Justice League, the role will have to be recast but unfortunately, few actors seem capable of fulfilling all the requirements. Whichever actor dons the cape must be able to portray Bruce Wayne the tortured individual, Bruce Wayne the charismatic playboy, and of course be intimidating enough to pull off the Caped Crusader. Unfortunately, not that many actors are capable of pulling off all three personas, and fewer still are willing to commit to agreeing to a multi-picture contract. Nevertheless, the chance to portray one of the most iconic screen characters of all time, as well as the chance to star in potentially one of the biggest films of all time should be enough to convince one of the following actors to put on the mask...

5. Tom Hiddleston

This will never happen, given that Hiddleston has already played a key role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I just feel like he could potentially play a really good Batman. First off, Hiddleston is a great actor as evidenced in The Avengers, Midnight in Paris, and War Horse. In addition, Hiddleston has the charm to play the playboy version of Bruce Wayne better than any other actor on the list, but he also contains an edge that would make him believable in the more serious moments. His experience in The Avengers showed he could pull off combat scenes, and he has showed in the past, putting on a lot of weight in a short amount on time while auditioning for Thor, that he has a level of dedication required for the character. I can't think of a reason he couldn't play Batman except that he already plays a Marvel character; he has the right mix of charisma, acting ability, and dedication to make for an excellent Dark Knight.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
