At last, AT LAST, some concrete news on the Justice League (hands up who was sick of the constant rumours). Warner Bros have hired casting directors Susan Shopmaker (The Holiday, Mean Girls), Michelle Allen (TV’s sadly cancelled Dead Like Me) and RDC Casting (The Shipping News) in New York, Vancouver and Toronto, respecitively, to cast the Justice League movie.
Confirmation comes via industry audition site Showfax who have multiple roles up for grabs. None of them specify which parts they are, they’re mainly tagged as “Male/Female Option #1, #2″ etc (which I guess means they are small roles or there to hide the names of the characters from online snoopers).
Anyone with a subscription to that site can download those sides and read portions of the film’s script. Of course, we at OWF would not object at all if anyone wanted to get those sides and email them to us!
This is purely speculation, but with calls going out to three cities already (with more to come, I’m sure), this probably means that George Miller is looking to find several unknowns or up and coming actors for the film. If sides for the part of Superman aren’t going out then the Tom Welling rumours could well be true.
The locations of these auditions are also interesting; initially they are taking place in two Canadian cities but in only one in the US. Could this suggest Warners are looking to shoot the movie up in Canada?

The sides are not actually from the Justice League script. They are five different sides from different movies like A Few Good Men, Swingers etc. They are more interested in seeing how you can switch between comedic and dramatic. As well, they have asked that we come up with a sad and comedic story from our own experiences. They’re more interested in the actor’s personality and whether they will mesh with an ensemble cast. As well, they are looking for people with solid improv, theatre and comedic skills.

Casting for htat movie has started over here in Australia.
So, given that Miller is an Aussie and that producitino costs are almost halved on this side of the Pacific, it might just be shot here!!!

Maybe Josh Hartnett or Matthew Bomer will both play The Dark Knight & The Man of Steel meeting each other in Gotham City. Josh can play Batman as a character similar to Christian Bale’s. Matthew was screen tested to play Superman before Brandon Routh got selected to play The Man of Steel in the 5th Superman sequel “Superman Returns”. Casted by Brett Ratner.
Maybe, if Brett Ratner can direct The Justice League movie. What do everyone think ?

I think Katherine McPhee would make a good Wonder Woman. She has the captive beauty that WW exudes. She also has the wholesome factor about her. If she does get the part, I feel Jaclyn Smith should play her mother. The 2 of them look nearly identical outside of their ages of course. If this movie is going to go for the “unlimited” version look, I think Triple H, of the WWE, is perfect for Aquaman.
I think angelina Jolie looks exactly like JLA’S Wonderwoman..So she def should play her or Jessica Beil..
If batman and Superman Aren’t in the movie it’s going to flop..I kinda already have a bad feeling about the movie but my hopes are high

Judging by the auditions are held in Vancouver, this could be a strong indication that Mr Welling could be up for the role, since this is were they film a lot of Smallville, not to mention the lad deserves to take the role of Clark into the Adult years after his efforts as the young Clark Kent !!!! This movie would slide nicely off the back of Smallville.

I read somewhere that catherine zeta-jones is perfect for wonderwoman, and I completely agree with that person. As for superman, I don’t think they should cast Brandon Routh bec. he’s not exactly “leader material.” They should go look for 35+ year old actors, as maturity is an important factor. I hope they don’t mess this up, I love JL very much :) (also, WHERE IS HAWKGIRL? I’d love to watch her and John together). Still sad that JL Unlimited has ended…
Jessica Biel ,IMHO, would be perfect for Wonder Woman. Body and attitude – there is no better choice. As for the others – I totally agree w/ the the poster who said maturity is of utmost importance, here…I hope we don’t have to see yet another version of the WB Not-Ready_For-Prime-Time superhero kiddies…I couldn’t bear it.
Jessica Biel and Angelina Jolie are both good choices for Wonder Woman. But I was watching a re-run of Star Trek Voyager, and the one I pick to be the Amazon Princess is Gerry Ryan (Seven of Nine) if she can look that fantastic in that outfit just imagine how she would be able to fill in Wonder Womans Costume.

Extend the Superman and Batman stories so they are established. Start Green Lantern and Flash stories etc so everyone will know what everyone it is about. Marvel Style!! Then bring the thunder of the Justice League even if it does mean casting a new Batman and Superman for it.

I really hope the Comic Con rumors about Noush Skaugen for Wonder Woman are true. Still an unknown with only one feature and has the physique for the role. Not entirely unlikely then.

I don’t see how in 2009 (or 2010) anyone else but Megan Fox could be considered the frontrunner for Wonder Woman. She IS the hot topic right now.
Wow, I can’t believe that people actually think they can just waltz in off the street for an audition or get a role based on a post. ‘I think I would be a great [insert name here]‘. That’s great. Just one question, have you EVER acted before? Most of the main cast have already been, um, cast. The chances of getting a role through an open call audition are slim to none. If you are with a background talent agency you might get a line as ‘Reporter #2′ or ‘Man with Newspaper’, but seriously people, if you don’t have an agent you really don’t have much of a chance. Plus, as previously mentioned, it is most likely in filmed in Oz, which means casting will most likely take place there too. If you really want to be an actor get an agent. It’s their job to find all this stuff out for you.

i hope christian bale and brandon routh are in it, and since ryan reynolds is the green lantern, i hope he is casted as well
