Justice League Is Probably Much Shorter Than You Thought

Shortest DCEU movie so far...

In a fairly surprising revelation, it turns out that Justice League will be a lot shorter than most people would have predicted, given the length of the rest of the DCEU's movies. It will be just 121 minutes long, according to Jeremy Conrad at Manabyte.

He cites theatre chains and multiple sources who have seen the movie, seemingly confirming that it will be the shortest DCEU movie to date, despite its scale and ceremony.

For months now, Warner Bros, the cast and the directors have been suggesting we'll get a much lighter movie from Justice League and a much more conventional comic book movie experience. And that length certainly suggests less of an ordeal. In truth, it's actually shorter than most comic book movies these days, but that might not be a bad thing.

Expectation might have suggested that it would be longer than Batman v Superman and Man Of Steel, simply because it's supposed to be an escalation of both, but a shorter runtime might suggest more restraint, which both of those movies were missing.

On top of this news, box office tracking for the film suggests it will have a strong opening (you don't need complex tracking mechanisms to state that fairly confidently) - at least according to Umberto Gonzalex's sources...

Whether that's something to take as concrete remains to be seen, but early tracking is often slightly out. What seems inevitable is that it will have a sharp spike of sales thanks to the committed DCEU fanbase. And as word spreads out of the initial screenings, it will hopefully sustain a little better than its predecessors (because that will be an indication that it's actually good, which we should all want).
