7. Zatanna – Eva Greene
Zatanna has already appeared on our screens in Smallville so it’s not completely unfeasible to demand another appearance. Eva Greene offers the perfect mix of beauty and sex appeal – it helps that she’s one hell of an actress too. There were rumours that she would appear as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, but I think Zatanna would be a better fit for her. Her role as Vesper in Casino Royale proves she could nail the mysterious allure of Zatanna perfectly.
If there’s one area where The Avengers failed, it’s its lack of strong female characters. DC boasts a huge gallery of female superheroes and while Zatanna might be difficult to incorporate, her inclusion could be a masterstroke if done right. The Justice League of America movie needs to establish its own distinct universe away from Nolan’s (unless those other rumours are to be believed) so embracing characters such as Zatanna would be the perfect way of setting up a more cosmic tone.

I am loving most of these actor/actress choices. Only ones I don’t think I can get behind are Jennifer Lawrence or Ryan Gosling. Lawrence because she just needs some more experience first, Gosling because I see Flash as a bit of a comedian. Gosling just doesn’t fit that bill for me. Great write up though!

Gosling can be annoying but you need someone with a bit of swagger for Flash. He could be good
Wonderwoman is a very physical super hero. She is up there with superman in strength and speed. She is a slugger, a fighter. I got she Lawrence playing the part. Wonderwoman is also tall. And has muscles. Mayber the actress from john carter.
i think your pick for wonder woman is way off base (IMO. WW is an amazon…that means she’s TALL!
I know im going to be totally panned for my pick for a varietyegiimate reasons…but for the raw look of your leade female superhero my pick is julie strain. (yeah i know hollywood wont touch her because if her adult films…but her body and size and look are SPOT ON…(let the flaming begin lol)

I actually disagree with every choice. I think you were on to something with the Martian Man Hunter though. This is who I would choose:
Batman: Luke Evans, not too well known but great actor, age appropriate and physically stunning. He would keep Batman dark and edgy.
Superman: Henry C of course
Wonder Woman: someone along the lines of Gemma Arterton, but not Gemma Arterton, beautiful actress but I don’t see her carrying the WW franchise on her own
Green Lantern: Idris Elba as John Stewart, we have to have some diversity in the league, plus bringing back Ryan Reynolds as GL means we would have to remember and acknowledge that horrendous atrocity he put us through in 2011
Flash: Liam Hemsworth. He just has this fresh young charm about him in his movies. He’s young which I think the flash should be so you can milk him for five or six movies. If not him, then Chris Pine.
Hawk Girl instead of Black Canary: Mia Wasikowska. I’ve never seen her do action except for that sword fighting bit in Alice. But if you’ve seen all of her movies then you know that she can pull off anything. Just give her a mase!
Aqua Man: Philip Winchester. Aqua Man needs to be just as fierce as Batman. This guy is a great actor with presence. He belongs in the lineup.
I think the league should start with younger lesser known actors so that they can run these franchises for a while.
These are just my opinions tho.
Good suggestions! DC will want a good cast though so expect a few well known names. I wouldn’t like Liam Hemsworth at all, or Mia Wasikowska. Other than that good list

Well i don’t know..If you ask me its between Ryan Gosling and Chris Pine to play as The Flash. And Jennifer Lawrence as Wonder Woman? Naa she’s to young and already works for Marvel. But i would like to seer Lynn Collins or Paula Patton as Wonder Woman:’)

I wanted to throw out some original names into the mix. Lynn Collins in the favourite I think. Jon Hamm – I don’t really see it tbh. Karl Urban would be good though
I like your picks. I always thought Gosling would have made a better Hal Jordan, but he could pull of Flash. Ever since Dredd, I want Karl Urban to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. A lot of people hate that idea, but I think he would be great. As much as I think Lawrence could play the part emotionally, I don’t think she has the looks. But I do agree that WW might be the most important part of the franchise to cast. I am one of the select few, as much as I’ve read, who think they should incorporate Nolan’s TDK Trilogy into this new DC Universe and throw tons of money at Christian Bale to have him come back. I understand if they don’t, but I would love to see Nolan’s Batman punch Superman in the face with a fist full of Kryptonite.

Gotta say I love those choices but here are some variations…
1)Batman: Sam Worthington; wonderful actor with a lot of presence. If you saw either Avatar or Terminator Salvation, he gives me the impression he would be a fantastic choice to play a both dominating and tortured hero.
2)Wonder Woman: I know Ayelet Zurer has already been cast as Lara Lor-Van (Superman’s mother in The Man of Steel) but think of it this way. She has this Mediterranean look about her that would fit very well for the role on an Amazon princess, plus she also happens to be a great actress!

Goslin doesnt seem to have the charistma needed to play the flash. And he’s not a good enough actor to pull off something he doesn’t fit into well.
I’d actually really enjoy seeing an Aquaman movie with Will Ferrell as Aquaman and Edgar Wright or Adam McKay directing. I’ve always seen Aquaman as kind of a joke superhero so a comedic treatment seems best to me. Also, Jennifer Lawrence as Wonder Woman is perfect
Idris Elba for Green Lantern, Djimon Hounsou for The Martian Manhunter, Ben McKenzie for Green Arrow, Tyler Hoechlin for the Flash, Alexander Skarsgard for Aquaman. I’m more or less content with Henry Cavill as Superman, although I think he’d be better as Batman. Joe Manganiello could do a good Batman, but probably better as Superman.
I’m 100% for Carla Gugino playing Wonder Woman, but given that she’s older it seems unlikely. That being said Berenice Marlohe would be great; she has a great body, strong voice, and tough but sexy face; everything Carla Gugino has. Eva green is basically perfect for Zatanna, but I could see Alexis Bledel in the role too. I see Malin Akerman as well as Yvonne Strahovski for Black Canary. Vanessa Williams would have made a great Hawk Girl, but I think Eliza Dushku is a good choice. If Vixen gets a part, then Kerry Washington or Aisha Tyler. If Huntress also gets a part, I see Emmy Rossum.
This is essentially what I see as an ideal cast give or take a few changes and some of the actors being interchangeable.

headed to bed, but before i go i had to comment: i love reading all the JL articles i can find. you definitely put thought and effort into this, so tomorrow when i got more time i am gonna respond fully. but for now, i just gotta say that there is absolutely nothing dark or intimidating about chris pine in any way shape or form. and as for,
“Batman fans only need look back at the criticism of Heath Ledger’s casting to see that sometimes, controversial works.”
1st, chris pine is no heath ledger.
2nd, we all already knew that ledger had the acting chops. as one of the people who loved his casting from the get go, i can only say that those opposed did not know ledgers resume, thus their worries.
3rd, i do know pine’s resume, and he has yet to show me he can do anything other than brash, cocky love interest, or sparkling hero. 4th, bruce wayne – and more importantly batman – are much too heavy of a realm for pine. he simply does not have the talent it takes to pull off anything other than the bruce wayne playboy aspect – and that facade would be about all that pine could handle.
5th, even in the world of superhero films, i can only laugh at the thought of chris pine embodying true fear in order to intimidate the rogues of gotham city. hell, even the jay-walkers would laugh at pine.
in the end, aside from not being intimidating, he just isn’t talented enough. i see you’ve left armie hammer off yer list. check out his films, he’s a far better pick than the guys you’ve mentioned – though urban could be ok, if he hadn’t just done ‘Dredd’. get away from the cast of star trek & you’ll find a few other names that are far more intriguing.

I love all the characters they’ve picked but one. I truly believe they should give Andrew Lincoln a shot at the BatMan’s role.
Overall I like the choices. However, I feel Strahvoski should play WW. I have her in my cast, and I just feel she could do amazing.

Olivia Wilde is the only choice for my WW. And I think a shocking and great move would be to have Jeremy Renner play Green Lantern Guy Gardner. That would totally shake up the team and add a great dynamic to the story. Guy had a great run with the League in the 90′s and I think it would be a bold, daring move by DC.
