Kirsten Dunst to star in A Jealous Ghost

kirsten_dunst.jpgIf Marie Antoinette has shown movie studio's one thing, it's should be that Kirsten Dunst can't carry a movie on her own. Sure it's ok in things like Spider-Man 3 where she can be the fourth most important star but when it comes to leading a movie she has the Orlando Bloom syndrome of not being able to sell a picture on her name alone. However that hasn't stopped the studio Paramount Vantage signing her up to lead in A Jealous Ghost, a supernatural thriller based on a book by A.N. Wilson. Apparentaly the book will be changed somewhat for the big screen but the basic plot of the novel is that a student in London (Dunst) begins a relationship with a much older professor which starts off a catalyst of ghosts and demons haunting her life. Doesn't sound like the worst idea for a movie ever but the thought of Dunst having to try and voice an English accent just makes me puke. I've never read the book so I have no clue if the character is an American studying in London or not but my guess is they will go with that anyway regardless. source - the hollywood reporter, coming soon
