Leonardo DiCaprio: Ranking Every Performance From Worst To Best

21. King Louis XIV/Philipe - The Man In The Iron Mask

Remember this? It actually happened - like, in real life. For this adaptation of The Man in the Iron Mask, then, DiCaprio took on the role of twin brothers - King Louis XIV and his brother Philipe. Rather hilariously, the actor won a Razzie for "Worst Screen Couple" for his dual roles, which is... just a bit weird, actually. So The Man In The Iron Mask isn't a very good movie, and - Razzie aside - DiCaprio is sort of serviceable, but doesn't really stand-out.

20. Roger Ferris - Body Of Lies

Much like the movie itself, nobody remembers Leonardo DiCaprio's performance in Ridley Scott's CIA thriller Body of Lies, mainly because there's much nothing to really remember. The film is about... it's about this operation, and... Russell Crowe... well, Russell Crowe is in it, and there's... there's this part where there's a desert. Definitely a desert in it, in Iraq or Iran or something, and Leonardo DiCaprio, he wears, like, these sun glasses as well. That's definitely something that happens in this movie. ... His name is Roger? Are you f*cking serious?

19. The Kid - The Quick And The Dead

Sam Raimi set out to play homage to his favourite spaghetti westerns with The Quick and the Dead, and managed to assemble a cast including Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman and our boy Leonardo DiCaprio, who spends the movie looking terribly handsome and being cocksure about the fact that he looked terribly handsome (oh, and his mad gun skills, too). Not a terrible performance, but not a particularly memorable one either. Also: not a very convincing cowboy.

18. J. Edgar Hoover - J. Edgar

As real life human J. Edgar Hoover, who founded the FBI back in the days when the world was black and white, Leonardo DiCaprio slapped on a bunch of make-up, made himself look fat and generally unattractive, and pretty much begged the Academy to give him an Oscar in the process. They said "no," of course, and that's a bit sad, isn't it? So whereas Leo makes a big effort, this still isn't a very notable performance - makeup aside, it's a bit bland and forgettable. And gross.
