2. The Villains Could Be Better

Logan Boyd Holbrook Donald Pierce
Fox

Logan is a movie so intently focused on its heroic trio that it's not too surprising the villains end up taking a backseat.

It's not a deal-breaker, but it definitely feels like more could've been done with Boyd Holbrook's Donald Pierce, who never really feels like a major physical threat and rarely actually gets involved in all the action.

And of course, there's Dr. Zander Rice (Richard E. Grant), who shows up in the film's second half but has a scant amount of screen time and isn't particularly interesting or well-developed.

Again, the film is so much about Logan (Hugh Jackman), Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Laura (Dafne Keen) that it's ultimately just a small complaint, but more compelling bad guys would've made the film even better.
