Lucas - Have you not made enough money out of us yet?

GeorgeLucas.jpgJust last week I sold my much loved digitally remastered Star Wars Trilogy dvd's on ebay, in order to fund my purchase of the "orginal" theatrical versions of the movies to be released in stores next week. I was all ready to buy these dvd's which I have been waiting for such a long time for. To see the original unedited versions of the movies I grew up with and loved is what Star Wars fans have wanted for ages but then I saw an article on filmrot through digitalbits which might stop me from ordering them. They are reporting that with next year being the 30th anniversary of Star Wars IV: A New Hope's first release in cinema's, a brand new dvd boxset is being planned. Taken from Digital Bits.. "There IS a big, ultimate, 6-film Star Wars anniversary DVD box set planned for 2007. There will be more changes to the films, and there will be LOTS of new, never-before-seen special features - all the good stuff that was held back by Lucasfilm from the original Trilogy DVD release a few years ago. Think deleted scenes and more". I don't know what to do now. They is no word on whether this new and improved "Ultimate" box set will have the "original" unedited versions as well, so i'm unsure on whether to buy the new dvd's next week or to sit and wait. George Lucas is really starting to p*** me off, and i'm sick and tired of having to buy new dvd's of Star Wars, just for more to be released down the road. And with talk of a 3D HD box set of the movies to be released in the next couple of years, I wonder how long it will take until fans stop spending money on the same movies. Lucas please, just release ONE set of your dvd's and make that do. Move on and leave it alone, go shoot Indy IV or dare I say it...... something original??? source - digitalbits, filmrot
