Man City Transfer News: £20 Million Move For Pepe?

Daily Mirror. New Citizens manager Pellegrini reportedly believes the Portuguese international would be the perfect partner for club captain Vincent Kompany at the heart of last season's FA Cup and Premier League runners-up. With Joleon Lescott looking set to leave the club as he is unhappy with his current lack of games, his exit would leave City light on centre backs with Nastastic their only other recognised player in this position. City's hopeful move for Pepe won€™t come cheap though, with Real Madrid announcing earlier in the summer that Pepe is not for sale. However Manchester City are prepared to bid around £20 million for the strong defender and increase his already huge wage. Pepe has never been far away from controversy during his time in Madrid, infamously stamping on Lionel Messi during an El Clasico clash. City would hope he can bring his fine qualities as a defender to the Premier League rather than his less handsome ones. Any move for Pepe is well away from completion but he would add experience and quality to Manchester City€™s defence. Is Pepe the right player for Manchester City? Would you rather keep Lescott? Thoughts welcome below.
