Man Of Steel: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Denies Batman Cameo

JGL Joseph Gordon-Levitt has seemingly crushed the hopes of all Dark Knight Rises fans by claiming he doesn't know anything about his rumoured appearance in upcoming Superhero movie, Man Of Steel, as directed by Zack Snyder. Even worse, he claims he hasn't even heard from Warner Bros. regarding his involvement in future Batman movies. Speaking in an interview yesterday, Gordon-Levitt said:
"I hadn't heard that one... It just goes to show how much you can believe rumours€ I don't think you should believe in any of them. If there's something I'm going to be in, I'm going to tell you about it."
It will come as a huge blow to fans who loved his performance as officer John 'Robin' Blake in Christopher Nolan's epic Batman finale, with many wanting him to take up the cape and cowl for the JLA movie as well as the inevitable Batman reboot. But is there more to this story than meets the eye? It wouldn't be the first time we've been thrown off by Warner Bros. Who remembers the bare faced lies told by Marion Cotillard when she was asked about her character in The Dark Knight Rises? Fans had her identified as Talia Al Ghul almost straight away but Marion Cotillard kept it quiet. What about Robin being included in The Dark Knight Rises? Nolan had stated he would never have him in his universe, a decision backed up by Christian Bale, who said he wouldn't star in any movie that included Robin. Personally, it seems strange that Gordon-Levitt has commented on this exact topic, a few days after both Nolan and Zack Snyder have also weighed in with their own thoughts. Could we still see him appear in Man Of Steel? I wouldn't bet against it. As for Nolan, aside from his producer role on Man Of Steel and his next feature film, Interstellar, he doesn't seem to have a lot on his plate. Could he be secretly masterminding a fully fleshed out DC universe? What do you think? Source: NME
