Maria Bello is "Bad-Ass Action Chick" in The Mummy 3

Rob Cohen instructing actress to play the role of Eve as a martial artist, kick boxer, swordfighter and rifle firing woman. What happened to the bookworm that we all loved?

Rob Cohen has already spread his cinematic germs all over The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon and the results are here for you all to read in Maria Bello's comments to Sci-Fi Wire. For those that need reminding, Bello has replaced Rachel Weisz for the role of Eve Carnahan, the wife of Brendan Fraser's adventure/explorer Rick O'Connell...

"She has the same name, but she's a very different character than Rachel played," Bello said in an interview. "She's a bad-ass action chick. I had to train a lot. I had to do wushu, a martial-art form, some kickboxing, swordfighting, rifle training for a couple of months before we even started shooting." Bello added: "It's the role of my dreams. It is just a blast."
A martial-arts Eve Carnahan to go along with this material-arts orientated action movie. Did we not prefer this series when it was a good old fashioned adventure movie and it depicted Eve as the slightly nerdish but decent looking bookworm? source - coming soon
