Herman Schultz has been one of the many Spider-Man villains that fans have been clamoring to see make it to the big screen over the years. The Shocker's never been the type of villain that could carry an entire movie in the same way as, say, Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus, but his existence as a low-level punching bag for Spider-Man has provided enough humor for decades that he's more than earned a spot in a live-action movie.
With Michael Keaton's Vulture taking center stage as Homecoming's biggest threat and other minor villains like Tinkerer in the mix, it'll be interesting to see just how big Shocker's role will actually be, and whether he's just a minor nuisance for everyone's favorite webslinger to deal with or, potentially, in league with Vulture.
At the very least - as anyone who has seen his turn in the second season of Fargo can attest - Bokeem Woodbine is quite an engaging actor, and if he's given the chance to really make Shocker his own, no matter how big or small the character's presence is in the end, then that's more than enough reason to look forward to seeing the longtime Spidey villain make his long overdue cinematic debut.
