Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Plot Points That Needed Further Exploration

Avengers The Marvel Cinematic Universe is awesome. In fact, I love it - of that there is no doubt. It has created an unprecedented, interlinked world in which the real world has found itself interwoven with fantasy, science fiction and myth and the adventures that have unfolded as a result have been nothing short of epic. But it does have its flaws. Some of what has gone on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe still requires a bit more explanation, given that several things seem to have been rushed or bypassed entirely. They're not necessarily essential to the flow of the stories we've seen, but they do bring to light a lot of niggling questions. With that in mind, here are ten rushed aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that needed further explanation.

10. Pepper Potts Being Cured Of Extremis

Tony and Pepper 2 As enjoyable as Iron Man 3 was, it had several faults - not least some of the hasty and unexplored outcomes at the climax. The first of these is Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) being cured of the Extremis virus. In the movie, it was considered a terrible thing that she had been infected with it (until of course it saved her life and she subsequently saved the life of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), yet her being cured was simply described in a voice-over at the end. A bigger deal should have been made of the most important person in Tony Stark's life becoming exactly the same as the man who almost ended him. Yet, essentially, it was waved away in a 'yeah, I fixed her, it was no sweat' kind of way.
