Marvel's Infinity Saga: Every MCU Movie Ranked Worst To Best

20. The Incredible Hulk (2008)

The Incredible Hulk is not quite as bad as it's often been accused of being. Ed Norton isn't as good a Bruce Banner as Mark Ruffalo but he's better than Eric Bana and the story here is a lot more traditional than Ang Lee's more trippy, introspective version.

Who is "to blame" depends on who you believe, but it's clear that while William Hurt's General Ross is great and there's enjoyment to be had in Tim Roth's OTT Emil Blonsky, it's all a little unbalanced, feels worryingly heartless for a film so supposedly invested in emotions.

It has its moments, but again, studio meddling derailed it and it's just very obviously a case of too many cooks. And not all of them being qualified.

19. Ant-Man & The Wasp (2018)

Let's just clarify that the jump in quality from The Incredible Hulk to this film is huge. The biggest in this entire ranking, in actual fact.

Because Ant-Man And The Wasp isn't a bad film by any means, it simply suffered partly because of its weird release placement and for the fact that it was always going to be "just" an Avengers: Endgame precursor for a lot of people. After Infinity War broke the Internet and the fanbase, the screeching halt back to Ant-Man's world helped nobody, no matter how incredibly charming Paul Rudd is as the titular hero.

Importantly, it introduces us to the MCU's first titular female hero (even though she shared the billing) and gives her enough to do to warrant that. The supporting cast is also great. But in the end, it's all just a little too mild. Released at any other point in the MCU, we might have all been able to appreciate its good points - which the effects also count towards - an awful lot more.
