MCU: 10 Big Missed Opportunities

9. Miles Morales

With the release of the Oscar winning Into The Spider-Verse, Miles Morales was introduced to mainstream cinema for the first time, and proved to be an incredibly popular character. Fans have been calling for Miles to debut in the MCU for some time, but with the breakup between Sony and Marvel Studios, this no longer seems like a possibility.

The first hint that the character existed in the MCU actually came before Marvel and Sony's deal, all the way back in season one of Daredevil. Foggy Nelson name-drops bumping into Morales, with the name also appearing on a boxing poster advertising a fight against 'Parker' in season three.

The biggest hint that Miles was planned to be brought into the MCU was Donald Glover's character in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Glover played a criminal by the name of Aaron Davis who mentions to Peter his nephew in the city. This was clearly a calculated line, as Davis' nephew from the comics is none other than Miles himself.

An MCU based live action Spider-Verse movie of sorts, with Tom Holland's Peter teaming up with Miles would have been one of the highlights of Phase Five or beyond, but Kevin Feige and co. now seem to have missed the boat on this project.
