MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Ant-Man & The Wasp (2018)

As the MCU film to be released after Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp had a lot of pressure – and a lot of hype – riding upon it. Ant-Man has never been the most well-known of heroes, but with such a focus being placed on the Marvel franchise, the film served as a way to finally put the lesser known hero in the spotlight.

With this spotlight, however, naturally comes intrigue. Between careful attempts to keep the details of the film under wraps – and careful major edits of the script – a lot of Ant-Man and the Wasp’s development is interesting for the sheer amount of care that clearly went into making sure everything ran as well and as smoothly as possible.

Armed with an unusual villain, a secret code name, and a bucket full of obscure references, Ant-Man and the Wasp proved that lesser-known heroes are just as capable of being the subject of interesting films – if not maybe even more so.

Ghost is in the comic universe known much better as the enemy of Iron Man, being involved in many plots against him since his creation in 1987, although he would go on to later be more of an enemy to the superhero team known as the Thunderbolts.

In the comics Ghost actually featured with basically everyone who wasn't Ant-Man, having worked alongside major Marvel villains such as Norman Osborne and Kingpin, and fought similarly major superheroes, such as Spider-man and Black Panther.

While the film version of Ghost is substantially different, this isn’t by any means a negative thing – as it shows the potential Marvel have to retcon characters and storylines in a way that is both innovative yet doesn’t feel out of place for the universe.
