MCU: 10 Things Red Skull Might've Been Doing Since 1945

About Johann Schmidt.

Red Skull is one of the few villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date who didn't completely stink out the movie he was in. Although Hugo Weaving really didn't enjoy his experience portraying the Nazi super-villain, his depiction put the likes of Mickey Rourke's Whiplash, Guy Pearce's Aldrich Killian, Christopher Eccleston's Malekith and Lee Pace's Ronan to shame. He appeared to perish at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, when he tried to handle the powerful Tesseract, but the general consensus is that he was actually simply transported to the other side of the universe. Whether or not Weaving would reprise the role is open to debate, but the door remains open for it. Interesting to consider of course is that the Tesseract happened seventy years ago. If it didn't kill him, what the hell has the evil b**tard been doing for seven decades?

10. Working For Thanos

Thanos loves a flunkey. To date, he has already utilised the services of Loki, Ronan, Nebula, Gamora and the Other in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Red Skull was transported to the far reaches of space by the Tesseract, there's a good chance he might have encountered the Mad Titan and ended up working for him. Not that Red Skull likes taking orders - but when someone as powerful as the Mad Titan starts telling you what to do, you don't argue. If the Nazi super-villain has been working for Thanos, he may well re-appear as one of his henchmen in the Avengers: Infinity War movies - though you have to imagine that he would have plans to overthrow the cosmic big-bad and obtain the power of the Infinity Stones for himself.
