MCU Phase 4 Confirmed: Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Guardians 3 & FANTASTIC FOUR!!

A throwaway comment confirms the return...

Marvel Fantastic Four
Marvel Studios

While most of the attention for Marvel's Comic Con panel will inevitably be on the movies and TV shows that were confirmed and given release dates, it's important to take note of the fact that Kevin Feige revealed a lot more than just the slate heading up to the end of 2021 and those ten projects. He also confirmed what else the studio is working on in a fairly off-hand sort of way.

As the panel was coming to a close, Feige title-checked Black Panther 2, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 and Captain Marvel 2 as in the works and excitingly also specifically mentioned Fantastic Four. On top of that he made a vague allusion to "mutants" and also, of course, introduced Mahershala Ali as the MCU's new Blade, even though his project has no date.

So that's another six movie projects at least mentioned, excitingly.

There's obviously one missing here too, because there was no mention of Spider-Man 3, but we know it's coming and it makes sense that it too would be part of Phase 4. Whether we'll also see another raft of Disney+ TV events for 2022 onwards too remains to be seen, but it would make a lot of sense.

How long Marvel's Phase 4 goes on will dictate how many more movies and TV shows we get announced in the coming years, but it would make sense that Kevin Feige will sit on any new projects until the marketing for the first ten up to the end of 2021 is done. Or at least heavily seeded.

Still, it's great to see how exciting the future is going to be.
