MCU: The Worst Thing EVERY Avenger Has Done

Sometimes good people do very bad things...

Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been reinvigorating the superhero movie landscape for over a decade now, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuing to break boundaries (and box-office records) in its undeniably impressive run at the top of Hollywood.

Success was always assured when a blockbuster like Iron Man kicked things off in 2008, but even the most optimistic of fans couldn't have foresaw the juggernaut that the MCU would grow into. And nothing stopped Marvel Studios from constantly taking things to the next level, adding hero after hero to the universe it was building in order to amass the most incredible line-up of assembled heroes to ever grace the big screen.

One of the things that makes those heroes so engaging is how they're all portrayed as being imperfect. Most of them recognise that they are flawed human beings/super soldiers/metahumans/aliens while others are less aware of that and eventually grow to accept it. No, The Avengers are not perfect heroes and, as a result, they're not immune to making very bad choices.

With that in mind, let's take a look back at each of them and remind ourselves of the very worst things they've ever done.

14. Ant-Man - His Criminal Past

Scott Lang proved himself to be the ultimate hero in Avengers: Endgame when he single-handedly inspired the Avengers to go along with his crazy time-travel plan - a plan that saved the missing half of the universe's population. But the truth is that Scott has always been a well-meaning good guy, determined to be the best that he can be for his daughter.

While his heroics as Ant-Man have led to a number of baffling moments, his actions are completely in-line with both films' respective tones - and they're not bad per se, just weird. However, the same can't be said about his criminal past.

As lovable as he is, Scott found himself drawn to petty crime and ultimately landed himself in prison because of it. Even though this is what ultimately led to him crossing paths with Hank Pym, it's still the worst thing he's done thus far.

When you look at some of the other heroes' actions on this list, you'll probably see that Scott's weren't really that bad by comparison. And that says a lot about the hero he has become.
