Michael Bay Casts Supermodel Bar Paly in 'Pain and Gain'

Monk actor Tony Shalhoub also joins Bay's low-budget actioner that shoots in April.

Michael Bay is nothing if not predictable. Having shot Megan Fox in a number of risque poses wearing tight, ridiculously revealing outfits in the first two "Transformers" movies before replacing her with former Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for his last entry, Bay is living out his fantasies on screen again with the casting of Israeli supermodel Bar Paly for his next film. Due to begin shooting in April, Paly takes the female lead role in "Pain and Gain", Bay's low-budget action thriller that is toplined by muscle clad stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as two bodybuilders who get involved in kidnapping, extortion and even in murder in Florida. Paly will play a former beauty queen Sabina Petrescu, an illegal immigrant in the US who is promised the American dream by Wahlberg's character and who wants to be the next Marilyn Monroe. Also joining "Pain and Gain" is Monk actor Tony Shalhoub as a target of a kidnapping plot and he joins the already impressive supporting cast that includes Ed Harris, Anthony Mackie and Rob Corddry. We aren't particularly big fans of Bay around here but we do, in a lowest common denominator kind of way, enjoy his 90's action output and so we are looking forward to seeing what he produces without giant assed robots. Paramount have yet to reveal a release date for "Pain and Gain" just yet but I guess there's a chance we should probably see it in theaters within 12 months. source - variety
