Michael J Fox: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

This is heavy.

If you had the luxury of a time machine, and you went back to the start of the €˜80s, there€™s no way Michael J Fox - then just heading into his star-launching performance in Family Ties - would believe you if you mapped out his career future. Back then he was probably interchangeable with any rising young TV or movie star looking for a definitive role, which he almost missed out on thanks to the inconvenience of a scheduling conflict. Luckily, Eric Stoltz sucked, and the rest is history. Or future. It€™s hard to tell which. Fox is now a cult idol, famous beyond even the A-list, despite his health restricting his ability to work, and he can legitimately claim to be as recognisable a film brand as Batman, Indiana Jones or Star Wars. But that doesn€™t mean he€™s infallible, or that was his film career was anything like perfect, because even Back To The Future actors back bad decisions. To celebrate the enduring brilliance of Back To The Future (spoiler alert: that€™s not the last time you€™ll hear that title), let€™s look back at the best and worst of a career that was defined by - but not restricted to - one of the most recognisable names in movie history€
