Mission: Impossible - Fallout: Tom Cruise On Sequel's Stunning Action

What it takes to put your body on the line...

Mission Impossible Fallout Tom Cruise

As we've already discussed in our review of Mission: Impossible - Fallout, the action sequences in Chris McQuarrie's sixth chapter of the MI franchise are some of the most stunning scenes in action movie history. His direction, the insane scope of the scenes and Tom Cruise's terrifying willingness to put himself in danger for our entertainment combine to make for an unprecedented, exhilarating experience.

And if you sat watching those scenes with your jaw hanging wide open (you will as soon as you see it when it releases globally this weekend, I guarantee it), you'll find yourself wondering HOW they achieved them. So it's good of IMAX and Paramount to peel back the curtain of some of the magic with a new featurette on the film's stunts.

The special featurette includes never-before-seen footage and offers a scoop from Cruise himself on how he prepared for the taxing stunts and why practical action is the true star of the sequel.

The IMAX release of Mission: Impossible - Fallout - which is the purest way to watch it, according to Cruise - will feature special formatting for select scenes, delivering up to 26% more of the picture than in standard theatres. That means IMAX moviegoers will experience Mission: Impossible – Fallout on a whole new level.

Here's the Fallout synopsis:

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. Mission: Impossible – Fallout finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout hits IMAX theatres on July 27th. Fans can get their IMAX tickets here.
