New Line hires Jordan for Killing on Carnival Row

NJordan_HG031485_150x200.jpgNeil Jordan, who's work in the 90's included Interview with the Vampire and The Crying Game is being lined up to direct the futuristic fantasy thriller Killing on Carnival Row for New Line. New Line picked up the Travis Beacham's script last year, with Guillermo del Toro on board to direct but for whatever reason, he dropped out of the project. The movie is "centered on a Victorian city inhabited by humans, faeries, elves and vampires, with a detective pursuing a serial killer".IESB have got their hands on a script review for the picture "This script has it all from plot twists to original re-imagining of fantastical creatures to some of darkest sexual fetishes that one can imagine. With all the failed remakes that Hollywood loves to do this is as original as one can get.I love this script, sure there are a few touch ups needed but that€™s usually the case with any script. Travis has a very dark and visual style of writing that made me feel like I was right there in the middle of Carnival Row, as if I was the one getting high and having sex with super hot faeries". Verdict... "If there has ever been a script that so needs to be made into a film this is it..... From a scale of 1 to 10 this one gets a solid 8". There's tons move on the review that contain some spoilers, you can read that by clicking here. Sounds pretty cool this then and of course would have been the perfect material for Del Toro's great visual eye but Jordan has proved in the past he can make a perfectly fine feature. Will he have the visual and creative talent to bring this world to life on screen as well as the script intended.... we will have to wait and see. source - variety, iesb
