New Spider-Man Footage In Latest Captain America: Civil War TV Spot

"That is awesome, dude."

Civil War erupts in three days (ten if you're in America), so to say I'm a little excited is putting it lightly. Captain America 3 isa movie with so much potential awesome I can't even decide what bit I'm anticipating the most; it's the (admittedly loose) adaptation of a great comic book arc, the pay-off of character relationships that've been built over a dozen previous films and looks set to expand the scope of the MCU in a big way. Although, if I'm being truly honest, the thing that's really got me is Spider-Man.

After The Amazing Spider-Man 2 I actually felt done with the character - I didn't hate Marc Webb's films, but they were just so bland and unimaginative, riffing on Sam Raimi's iconic take with a faux-Nolan touch while also trying to ape the MCU, that I began to question if Peter Parker was that good a hero in the first place. Yeah...

The Marvel deal changed all that, promising something original yet authentic.I'm so back on board it's like the past three films in the franchise never happened.

We've not seen much of the web-crawler since he was unveiled in the final trailer a couple of months back, although there havebeen a few glimpses here and there, the latest of which is in this new TV spot. We see him swinging from a web just like a spider can (spiders can do that, right?) and tackling the Winter Soldier, stopping a punch and remarking "You have a metal arm? That is awesome dude!"

Wow. Just wow. This is Spider-Man in his purest form - agile, strong and whip-smart - and Tom Holland has nailed the voice. I'd say "take my money", but I've already got my tickets booked (at midnight, obviously).
