Star Wars Episode 9 is going to be an incredible spectacle. Whether you care to admit that the sequel trilogy has been a strong continuation of the original movies or not (it has), the prospect of the end of the Skywalker Saga (or the supposed end, at the very least) has got to come with an added thread of excitement.

And now we have a fresh look at some exciting new footage, courtesy of the D23 sizzle reel that landed to such acclaim over the weekend. And there are some HUGE talking points in there.

Firstly, there's a very big hint that we're going to be getting some actual wars in the stars - if that Empire armada is anything to go by. And then there's the sight of C-3PO with red eyes, which seems to fit with a plot rumour recently suggesting that he's fitted with the wrong memory unit and ends up adopting the persona of a battle droid - including stealing Chewie's bowcaster. That'll be interesting.

And even more eye-catchingly, we also get to see what appears to be Rey as a Sith, wielding a double-bladed lightsaber for one of the most striking images in Star Wars history. Could this be her actually turning to the Dark Side? A twin? Another clone like she is? A vision implanted to break her? Either way it's all very interesting.

Here's the footage...
