New Star Wars Trilogy: 3 Do’s and 4 Don'ts

DO: Reach Out to the Pixar Brain Trust

Now, there is no way in Hell we will ever get a Pixar-Star Wars movie. John Lasseter made it clear back when Disney first bought Marvel that Pixar was not interested in incorporating outside franchises into their stories. And thank God for that. BUT! We can€™t forget an important detail: The Pixar guys are really, really, really frigging smart, and have an understanding of story and character that most other filmmakers (in live-action or animation) seem to be baffled by. The Pixar brain trust understand how traditional drama and propulsive narrative work together, and know how to bring those qualities out of any story, even if dealing with characters who have no voice or human features. Considering one of the major complaints about the prequels was how lifeless and dead the CGI characters and vistas were, and how bringing life to those things is 99% OF Pixar's JOB, maybe they should be consulted on the look and feel of the movie. Hopefully, Disney will learn from their mistakes with Tron: Legacy and ask Pixar to help out BEFORE the movie is completely shot.
