Oscars 2013 Live: Christoph Waltz Wins Best Supporting Actor

django This year's Oscar ceremony kicked off - albeit after an extended opening sequence featuring some typical Seth MacFarlane barbs and an appearance by William Shatner - with arguably the most difficult award to pick from the outset. The Best Actor in a Supporting role nominees were... Philip Seymour Hoffman for The Master, Robert DeNiro for Silver Linings Playbook, Alan Arkin for Argo,Tommy Lee Jones for Lincoln, and Christoph Waltz for Django Unchained. And the winner is... Christoph Waltz. The German actor picked up the gong for his exceptional, and comically touched performance as Dr King Schultz in Quentin Tarantino's controversial Western epic Django Unchained. Waltz thanked a lot of people in his acceptance speech, calling his director a hero, and accepted the accolade with some class. A great way to start the awards ceremony, even if some might have expected Tommy Lee Jones to walk away with the award. What did you think of Christoph Waltz's performance in Django Unchained? Did he deserve to win? Share your thoughts below.
