5. Best Original Song - Remember Me, Coco

Coco Remember Me
Pixar

Coco was a lock for Best Animated Feature, but less so when it came to Original Song, where it was involved in an extremely tight two-horse race with The Greatest Showman's This Is Me. And, given the legs the latter has had at the box-office, it wouldn't have been too much of a surprise to say it go that way, especially as Pixar's had some big misses here before.

While Greatest Showman's songs are excellent, This Is Me doesn't quite match the emotional power of Coco's Remember Me, which comes at the end of the film as a perfect, poignant summation of the movie's themes and messages.

It's a gorgeous, happy-sad mix that serves as a haunting reminder of loved ones who've lost and the way we hold them in our memories long afterwards, and the crux of Coco's devastating denouement.
