Paramount already looking ahead to STAR TREK sequel

Despite Star Trek being just under 12 months away, Trek Movie have learned from writer Roberto Orci that the whole "Supreme Court" (the nickname for all the cast and production team on the movie) have been asked to come back for a sequel.

Of course it all depends on how the movie performs at the box office next year and whether it can make a profit on it's $150 million+ budget. The highest grossing Star Trek movie to date is IV: The Voyage Home which earned just over $100 million back in the 1986. But Paramount have been planning their future as of late, greenliting quick sequels to both Iron Man and Transformers, both of which only have a two year gap between films. So all being well, we should expect Trek 2 in the summer of 2011 - which may be bad news for Stephen King fans wanting to see J.J. Abrams direct The Dark Tower film or t.v. series. source - trek movie
