Patrick Stewart: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

5 Awesome Performances...

5. Himself (Sort Of) - Extras (2005)

Though predominantly known for his serious, dramatic performances, Stewart proved himself a titan of comic timing for Ricky Gervais' second great comedy scene with a cameo that is as hilarious as it is cringe-worthy.

Reimagining himself as a skewed version of himself - defined partly by his thespianism and partly by a strange, perverse penchant for happening upon naked women. Stewart's delivery of the increasingly ridiculous lines, and the cumulative effect suggestion that his grand opus would effectively be a raunchier Carry On film are hysterical, and it's a wonder anyone got through recording at all.

That same comic commitment to self-deprecation has also seen him take on the Adam West-like role in American Dad as CIA boss Bullock. He's hilarious in that, but he's never quite as good in his brief appearance opposite Ricky Gervais.
