Pitch Perfect 2 Full Trailer - Watch It Here

They're back pitches.

Some of the first Pitch Perfect was a little goofy - the whsipering girl, the vomit gags - but this trailer for the sequel amps up the broad comedy and daffiness to a surprising degree. We open with a scene, for example, in which Fat Amy tears her costume mid-routine and gives a singing competition audience more than an eye full. Thankfully there are still some more grounded sequences that suggest this will still have a plot, characters and emotional stakes and not just be a lot of showing off and playing to the peanut gallery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkGoCC3zJlg You can also see the trailer in HD at Apple. I'm not sure that World War II joke is even a joke, let alone funny. Everything about this seems like they're sticking to pretty standard sequel strategy so far. They go bigger, they go abroad, they call back to jokes from the original. I fear that by trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator this trailer has sold the film somewhat short. An even bigger fear is that this accurately represents the film and it's going to be a bit of a duffer. Elizabeth Banks is making her directorial debut on this picture. I hope that her new career path isn't also a trip up a blind alley for the Barden Bellas. Pitch Perfect 2 will be in both US and UK cinemas from May 15th.
